Awards
The Juror will select a first place award of $1,000 in each of the four media categories listed. A Grand Prize of $2,000 will also be presented.

The Raleigh Fine Arts Society encourages art that is FOR SALE.
All art will be available for purchase unless designated “NOT FOR SALE” at the time of entry.
RFAS charges a commission of 30%. Sale prices may not change.
Eligibility: North Carolina Residents
North Carolina residents (ages 18 and over) and college and university students and faculty are eligible to submit two original works, executed within the last two years.
Works exhibited in previous Raleigh Fine Arts Society exhibitions are not eligible.
All work must be the sole work and exclusive property of the artist.
Specifications for Entries
All two-dimensional work must be wired and ready to hang.
The maximum dimension of a single work, sculpture included, is 72 inches (including frame), and it should weigh no more than 200 pounds.
Works requiring special handling and installation will not be accepted. RFAS reserves the right to make final decisions on installation.
Procedures
Artwork must be submitted online from the RFAS website. RFAS uses the “EntryThingy” program for online submissions. This program is user-friendly and offers tutorials.
If you cannot submit your entry online, please contact us by sending an email with your telephone number to artistsexhibition@gmail.com, or call (919) 302-4486.
You may submit digital images of two works in JPEG format. One image is acceptable for two-dimensional works; three images for three-dimensional works.
File sizes cannot exceed 4MB, and the minimum image size cannot be lower than 500px.
Images must be oriented correctly.
The sale price of each work is required even if it is not for sale. (You must provide insurance value for all work, and insurance is calculated at 50% of the sales price.)
If a work is NOT for sale, enter (NFS) following the sale price.
All entries will be juried from digital images. Awards will be selected from the original works of art.
The McCain Gallery reserves the right to exhibit only artwork it deems appropriate in content and is safe to exhibit when considering size, weight and materials.
Entry Fee
The entry fee is $35.00. Your payment will be accepted online using PayPal.
Deadline
Your online entry must be finalized and payment received by midnight on January 11, 2012 for your entry to be considered by the Juror.
All fees are nonrefundable.
Delivery of Accepted Works
Selected works must be properly framed and ready to display. Three-dimensional sculpture work must have display stands and/or pedestals suitable for exhibition.
Hand delivery: Progress Energy Center for the Performing Arts, 2 East South St., Raleigh, NC 27601. Enter the gallery from the Kennedy Theatre entrance off Salisbury Street.
Shipping: A prepaid return label must be enclosed. Ship via UPS to: Progress Energy Center for the Performing Arts, 2 East South St., Raleigh, NC 27601. The City of Raleigh is not responsible for damage during shipment. (It is the artist’s responsibility to properly pack and insure his/her work. Performing Arts Center staff will open shipped work upon receipt to inspect for damages.)
Accepted entries may not be removed during the Exhibition but all unsold works MUST be picked up on Thursday, May 3. Shipped artwork will be returned to the artist in the original packing materials on May 3 if accompanied by a prepaid return label.
Liability
The City of Raleigh is not responsible for loss, theft or damage during transport by Lender. However, the city will take all reasonable care of loaned works while art is in its custody. The City of Raleigh maintains fine arts insurance with a $2,500 self-insured retention. As a result, artists are encouraged to make their own insurance arrangements to cover the first $2,500 in value for any art on loan to the City. City policy covers direct physical loss of or damage to the artwork from any external cause (except for damage resulting in flaws inherent in the artworks, and normal wear and tear resulting from the handling and hanging of artwork).
Agreement, Photography, and Reproduction Rights
Entry in the Exhibition constitutes agreement to the conditions set forth in this prospectus. The artist grants Raleigh Fine Arts Society permission to photograph any work accepted for the Exhibition for archival purposes or publicity; or for publications, slideshows, film, or television programs which are produced or sponsored by or with the permission of Raleigh Fine Arts Society; or to scan artist’s work for Raleigh Fine Arts Society web page www.raleighfinearts.org.
